No settings tab in admin
The guide in the Admin section says I should look in the "Settings Tab" but I can see no settings UI of any sort.
Also there seem to me no moderation tools either.
I'm sure I'm just missing something obvious.

Maybe it'd be good if what you tried, would work fine too. So other people who try the same things as you, in the future, will find the settings.

Strange - so I did not click on my user name - in fact I'm sure i only saw the icons jsut to the right of my user name before. Either that it's the usual problem with flat design - you never know what can be clicked on until you try (technicall there are no clear affordances)!
But anyway -now I know it is there! :)
Now how do I close this issue LOL
KajMagnus @KajMagnus2019-10-04 10:35:30.093ZMaybe this was in the past, when you were using the comments demo site. Then you cannot login as admin (only I can login as admin to the demo site). And you wouldn't have seen any admin link (like you described?).

Oh cool! I was jesting but i see thisis quite a good tool forum + issues ! Is it based on anything or roll-your-own?

Roll-one's-own is probably the best description. It's new discussion software created from scratch — well it uses Play Framework, an app server framework. So one can say it's built on Play Framework (just like many Ruby applications are built on Ruby on Rails).
