Show links to members' own websites/blogs
Hello, i´m new using talkyard. Sorry my english, because i´m brazilian.
About the login window, it´s possible to add a website form with the name and email dialog?
And this turn to a link under the name when the comment is published?
KajMagnus @KajMagnus2025-11-25 08:49:19.805ZHello! Thanks for the question. I'm not sure I understand — you mean that instead of opening a popup window, where one types one's name and email, there would be name & email input fields below the textarea where one types one's comment? And then there'd be no need for the login popup?
That's not possible. But maybe I misunderstood. A screenshot / mock-up might be helpful.
(I moved the question to a new page, originally it was a comment on: https://forum.talkyard.io/-257/low-friction-blog-comment-setup#post-14 )
In reply todalbo1201⬆:@dalbo1201I'm sorry.
Clearly, my English isn't good. Actually, what I was asking was something like this.
So, when the comment is posted, the site would be a link associated with the user and would be clickable on the comment page.
KajMagnus @KajMagnus2025-12-01 03:51:44.227ZAha, thanks for the image & explanation. This is currently not supported.
Some problems:
- Showing such links under comment author names make the user interface a bit more cluttered. However, the link to someone's blog could instead be shown in the about-user dialog which opens when one clicks their name.
- Asking for such links makes the signup form look more "complicated". However the "Site/blog" field could be collapsed by default, and one would click to expand & fill in. Could be made configurable by admins.
But if you look here: https://forum.talkyard.io/-/users/dalbo1201/preferences/about, you can add a website link and write a short bio about yourself.
However! No one else can see the link & bio (except for mods & admins).
Not yet implemented :- (
The idea is that the link & bio be shown in the about-user dialog and on one's profile page.I'll mark this topic as Planned, to remember to at least show the link & bio. Although it's not literally what you were asking for. (& I edited the title of this page again)
- Progresswith doing this idea
